Johnny Taylor-Unsolved Homicide

(The McCreary County Voice continues to highlight local cases involving unsolved homicides or missing persons. Anyone with information regarding any of the cases is urged to contact officials. Any additional information, no matter how small, can help solve the cases and help family members heal and find closure for the loss of their loved ones.)
On December 12, 2014, sixty-six year old Johnny Taylor’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds in his bedroom by firefighters responding to a house fire at Taylor’s home in Pine Knot. Taylor’s 1999 Chevrolet truck was gone and found burnt five days later off KY 896.
About one half hour after the house fire, a short surveillance video taken at a store on KY 90 (Cumberland Falls Road) seems to show Taylor’s truck. A woman from the passenger side exits the truck, buys a soda, and leaves in the vehicle. When Taylor’s truck was found, it was a short distance from the store.
Anyone with information regarding the murder of Johnny Taylor is urged to contact Detective Billy Correll at KSP Post 11 at 606-878-6622 or the McCreary County Sheriff’s Department at 606-376-2322.
