Saddle Up

Despite the cold, rainy weather, McCreary County’s first annual Spring Trail Ride at the Sandhill RV Camp was a success with horses and riders coming from several different states including Connecticut and West Virginia. A large group came from McMinnville, Tennessee. The horseback riders rode trails in the Barren Fork and Sandhill area. However, the event was not just for trail riders as all were invited to enjoy the live music, dancing, food, crafts, and vendors. Sixty campsites were occupied with two to five people at each site. A second trail ride event-again geared for those with and those without horses-is planned for October.
