Flaming structure/controlled burn fire

Last week, a flaming structure/controlled burn fire occurred just south of Downtown Whitley City on HWY 1651. Black smoke from the house fire filled the sky making visibility difficult at times. Ambulance service personnel arrived on the scene as required when structure fires occur. In recent years, protocol requires EMS presence during structure fires in case of injury to residents or firefighters. Whitley City Fire Department resonded to the fire.
