Violating Graves and drug arrest

Sheriff Randy Waters reported that on July 1, 2021 he obtained an arrest warrant for Teresa Ann Gregory, age 39, of Pine Knot, KY for the alleged offense of unlawfully and intentionally removing ornaments from the grave of an infant child. Violating Graves is a Class D Felony punishable by one to five years imprisonment and fines of $1,000 to $10,000.
Sheriff Waters stated that Deputy Alex Jones arrested Gregory on July 3rd after a short foot chase. Deputy Jones had seen Gregory throw a yellow hand bag into the tree line and retrieved it after he made the arrest. A crystal like substance, possibly methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were found.
Additional charges placed against Teresa Gregory were Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (on foot), Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Gregory was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.
