Heritage Foundation Provides Updates

The McCreary County Heritage Foundation met earlier this month to provide updates on several matters.
AML Slide Repair-Main slide repair work has been completed with workers now repairing a second slide area along the tracks. After all slide repairs are completed, Queen City Rail will complete rail replacement.
Pedestrian Walkway on Roaring Paunch Creek Railroad Bridge-Kentucky Heritage Council completed their review and submitted to Office of Surface Mining Reclamation.
USU-GB Collects-Settlement completed.
Wasatch Arbitration-Negotiations between the Foundation and Wasatch as to terms for collection of approximately $750,000 awarded through court-ordered arbitration to the Foundation from Wasatch are ongoing. The award resulted from a civil suit filed by the Foundation against Wasatch regarding restoration of a steam engine.
Museum/Golf Course-Golf course hosted a successful June Invitational. Museum is planning a Gala event in September
Change in administrative leadership-Crystal Taylor is currently carrying out Executive Director duties.
The McCreary County Heritage Foundation meets in regular session on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 in the Outdoor Venture Conference Room in Stearns.
