Vietnam Military Brothers Reunite

Military brothers who served together in Vietnam in 1971 recently gathered in McCreary County to celebrate fifty years of friendship. The group of Army veterans represent four different states: Texas, Iowa, North Carolina, and Kentucky.
The Vietnam Veterans pictured left to right are: Russell Sheets-North Carolina, Ricky Miller-Kentucky, Roger Tucker-Whitley City, KY, Leroy Tyson-Texas, Mike Rekemeyer-Iowa, and Jessie Moffett-North Carolina.
While in McCreary County, the veterans gathered at Roger Tucker’s home to exchange stories and enjoy lots of food. Roger gave all of his military brothers a special Vietnam Veteran cap. The group also visited Cumberland Falls.
Roger and his friends are all recipients of the Bronze Star and Air Medal.
The group gathered together previously in 1991 and are already planning a reunion for next year. The military brothers hope to meet yearly thereafter.
