A-ROC Community Resources Kiosk placed at the library
Marlene Taylor from the Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency brought an A-ROC kiosk to the library today. The kiosk provides patrons with connections to various community resources. Ms. Taylor is pictured with Grady Wilson, Library Director.
“The purpose of the resource kiosk is to provide citizens of McCreary County easy access to resources within the community with an emphasis on those seeking services or assistance for substance use disorder. The kiosk has been formatted with an intake/questionnaire form tailored to provide resources based on the individual’s needs. Again, the purpose of the kiosk is to help reduce the stigma of seeking services and provide ease of accessing services to rural areas as well as providing individuals with a sense of privacy and dignity without having to speak to multiple people to gain access to services. After the form is submitted someone from A-ROC will contact the individual and link them to resources based upon their responses to the questionnaire. A-ROC’s overall goal is to reduce morbidity and overdose deaths associated with opioids through comprehensive prevention, treatment, recovery and support services, and we feel the resource kiosk is a step forward in assisting those suffering from addiction to access services and treatment in a new and innovative way. You are important and we want to help you!” -Marlene Taylor, A-ROC Project Manager.
