Railroad crossing concerns

State Representative Kenneth Upchurch, McCreary County Magistrate Bobby Strunk, Judge Executive Jimmie “Bevo” Greene, Norfolk Southern’s Will Miller, and others from the McCreary County Judge’s Office and Road Department recently met to discuss the railroad crossing at Pine Knot’s Century Lane.  When the crossing is blocked by a train, several residents do not have access to their homes.  Recently,  delivery of an oxygen machine to a resident in need in the neighborhood had to be hand delivered by going between the rail cars of the stopped train.  Miller told officials engineers will look at the situation and develop options for review by the Transportation Cabinet.
