Theft and damage at County Park

Several outer buildings at the McCreary County Park, including sheds and concession stands used by the McCreary County Youth Baseball/Softball League, were broken into on two separate occasions last week.  In the first incident, thieves broke into or attempted to break into various outer buildings while stealing a backpack Stihl leaf blower, unsuccessfully attempting to remove a battery, and causing damage to all of the buildings.  Total cost of theft and damage from the first incident is estimated in excess of $2,000.

Just a few days later, perpetrators struck again.  Thieves successfully stole several items during the second raid including surveillance equipment and a baseball/softball pitching machine.
