Grand Jury indicts 18

The McCreary County Grand Jury met in regular session on September 13, 2021 and handed down 18 indictments.

James Strunk, address unknown, was charged on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about November 2, 2017 Strunk committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by having in his possession a 380 automatic pistol after previously been convicted of a felony. Count 2 states that on or about November 2, 2021, Strunk committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree, having committed and been convicted of a prior felony; Pulaski Circuit Court on 12/19/2016.

James Strunk, address unknown, was charged on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about August 10, 2021 Strunk committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by having in his possession a 10 caliber Hi Point pistol after having previously been convicted of a felony. Count 2 states that on or about August 10, 2021 Strunk committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree, having committed and been convicted of a prior felony; Pulaski Circuit Court on 12/19/2016.

Tim Meadows of Pine Knot, KY was charged on two counts. Count 1 states that on or about August 21, 2021, Meadows committed the alleged offense of Burglary in the Third Degree by entering a Shell Station owned by Todd Jones. Count 2 states that on or about August 21, 2021 Meadows committed the alleged offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking of the Value of Less than $1000 by taking cigarettes of the value of less than $1000 owned by Todd Jones.

James Nicky Perry of Whitley City, KY was charged with 3 counts. Count 1 states that on or about September 1, 2021 Perry committed the alleged offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking of the Value of $1000 or More but Less than $10,000 by taking a 1987 International Truck of the value of $6000 owned by Brandon Perry. Count 2 states that on the same date Perry committed the alleged offense of damaging a 1987 International Truck owned by Brandon Perry causing a pecuniary loss in the amount of $1000 or more. Count 3 states that on the same date Perry committed the alleged offense of Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree, having been convicted of prior felonies in McCreary Circuit Court on 08/18/2010 and on 08/30/2007.

Stephens Watters, address unknown, was charged with three counts occurring on or about September 1, 2021. Count 1 states that Watters committed the alleged offense of Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree by engaging in conduct which created a danger of death or serious injury to Demond Thornton. Count 2 states Watters committed the alleged offense of Receiving Stolen Property of the Value of $500 or More by possessing a 1987 International Truck which had been stolen from Brandon Perry of the value of $1000 or more. Count 3 states that Perry committed the alleged offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a vehicle owned by Demond Thornton causing a loss in the amount of $1000 or more.

Frank Rollins of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance, on or about December 31, 2020.

Joshua New of Stearns, KY was charged that on or about May 1, 2021 New committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance.

Timothy Wilson of Pine Knot, KY and William Coffey of Strunk, KY were indicted on two counts occurring on or about May 9, 2021, individually or in complicity with another. Count 1 states the defendants committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in their possession, for the purpose of sale, a quantity of Methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance. Count 2 states that the defendants committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in their possession a quantity of Cocaine, controlled substance.

Dustin Stevens of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts occurring on or about May 17, 2021. Count 1 states Stevens committed the alleged offense of Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree by engaging in conduct which created a danger of death or serious physical injury to occupants of a school bus. Count 2 states Stevens committed the alleged offense of Fleeing or Evading the Police in the First Degree by failing to obey signals of Deputy Chaney to stop a vehicle driven by Stevens in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials.

Marklos Goins of Parkers Lake, KY was charged on two counts occurring on or about April 27, 2021. Count 1 charges Goins with committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 charges Goins with committing the alleged offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, First Offense by having in his possession items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances.

Charlie Wesley of Somerset, KY was charged for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine, occurring on or about August 22. 2021.

Brenda Bryant of Whitley City, KY was charged that on or about June 10, 2021, Bryant committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine.

Patricia Young of Oneida, TN was indicted on four counts occurring on or about August 25, 2021. Count 1 states Young committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 charged Young for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a mixture of Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Fentanyl in a baggie. Count 3 charge Young with committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Oxycodone. Count 4 charged Young for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance.

Daniel Ridner of Whitley City, KY was indicted on four counts occurring on or about March 16, 2021. Count 1 charged Ridner for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 charges Ridner for committing the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree, First Offense for having in his possession, for the purpose of sale, a quantity of Hydrocodone. County 3 charges Ridner for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense for having in his possession a mixture of MDMA and Methamphetamine. Count 4 charged Ridner for committing the alleged offense of being a Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree, having been convicted of a prior felony; McCreary Circuit Court on 04/25/2019 and is still on probation.

Eileen Dick of Burnside, KY was indicted for committing the alleged of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession Over 2 grams of Methamphetamine, occurring on or about June 19, 2021.

Robert Swift, address unknown, was charged that on or about July 30, 2021, Swift committed the alleged offense of Possession of a controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine.

Charles Koger was indicted and charged for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance Second Degree.

No True Bill was filed against Misty Murphy and further investigation was recommended on Darrell Threet.
