Drugs lead Grand Jury Indictments

The McCreary County Grand Jury met in regular session and filed the following indictments with the McCreary Circuit Court on October 25, 2021. Drug charges dominated the Grand Jury session with 17 individuals being indicted.

Joseph Crabtree of Monticello, KY was indicted on five counts occurring on or about July 20, 2021. Count I1states Crabtree committed the alleged offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants, First Offense by operating a motor vehicle on the public highways while under the influence of intoxicants. Count 2 states Crabtree committed the alleged offense of Fleeing or Evading the Police in the First Degree by failing to obey signals of KSP to stop in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials while under the influence of intoxicants. Count 3 states Crabtree allegedly committed the offense of Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree by endangering police officers and other persons on the road. Count 4 states Crabtree allegedly committed the offense of Resisting Arrest by refusing all officers orders affecting his arrest. Count 5 states Crabtree committed the alleged offense of Criminal Mischief in the First Degree by damaging a police cruiser owned by MCSO causing pecuniary loss of $1000 or more.

Tammy Crabtree of Stearns, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Second Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine, on or about the 25th day of July, 2021.

Roscoe Garland of Revelo, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine on or about October 3, 2021.

Richard Marion of Strunk, KY was charged with committing the alleged offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking of the Value of Greater than $1000, But Less than $10,000 by taking a 2005 GMC Sierra on or about September 21, 2021.

Jason Roberts of Stearns, KY was charged for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine on or about the 24th day of August, 2021.

Amanda Slaven of Helenwood, TN was indicted on four counts occurring on or about July 12, 2021. Count I states Slaven committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 states that Slaven committed the alleged offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, First Offense by having in her possession items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances. Count 3 states Slaven committed the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Oxycodone. Count 4 alleges Slaven committed the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of a controlled substance.

Rachel Stillwell of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts occurring on or about July 6, 2021. Count 1 charges Stillwell for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 charges Stillwell with committing the alleged offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, First Offense by having in her possession items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances.

Jeremiah Hall, homeless, was indicted on two counts occurring on or about the 4th day of October, 2021. Count 1 charges Hall with committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Methamphetamine. Count 2 charges Hall with the committing the alleged offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, First Offense by having in his possession items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances.

Jimmy Selvidge of Lawrenceburg, IN was indicted on three counts occurring on or about September 28, 2021. Count 1 charges Selvidge with committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by having in his possession a Smith and Wesson 40 cal. Handgun after having previously been convicted of a felony. Count 2 charges Selvidge with committing the alleged offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants, First Offense by operating a motor vehicle on public highways while under the influence of intoxicants. Count 3 charges Selvidge with committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, First Offense by having in his possession a quantity of Buprenorphine.

Chloe Mae Richardson of Whitley City, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in her possession a quantity of Methamphetamine occurring on or about April 15, 2021.

Jacqueline Ball of Strunk, KY and Mikel Joe Wallen of Pine Knot, KY, individually or in complicity with another, were indicted for committing the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in their possession a quantity of Methamphetamine, occurring on or about May 13, 2021.

Carl Vanover of Parkers Lake, KY was charged that on or about February 11, 2021 Vanover committed the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by having in his possession, for the purpose of sale, a quantity of Methamphetamine.

Amelia Cordell of Whitley City, KY was indicted on two counts occurring on or about July 8, 2021. Count 1 charges Cordell for committing the alleged offense of Fleeing or Evading Police in the First Degree by failing to obey signals of Deputy Aaron Tucker to stop in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials. Count 2 charges Cordell for committing the alleged offense of Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree by engaging in conduct that created a danger to MCSO Officers and other persons on the highway.

Edwin Alonso Avila-Manzanares of Madison, TN was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon on School Property by having in his possession a Baretta 12 gauge shotgun with a sawed off barrel at Pine Knot Elementary School occurring on or about the 14th Day of September, 2021. 

Jamie Lebel of Stearns, KY was charged with committing the alleged offense of Burglary in the Second Degree by unlawfully entering a residence with the intent to commit a crime occurring on or about September 10, 2021.

Stacey Ridner of Parkers Lake, KY was indicted for committing the alleged offense of Assault in the Second Degree by hitting a person and causing serious physical injury occurring on or about August 6, 2021.

The Voice would like to remind our readers that an indictment is not an indication of one’s guilt or innocence, but represents that enough evidence exists in a case to pursue the matter in a court of law.
