What’s New in Town?

During McCreary County’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) November meeting, IDA Director Nathan Nevels provided a local business update. According to Nevels, the following new businesses and/or new locations for existing businesses are set to open in McCreary County.
-Agnes Fabric Shop in Whitley City has a new owner, Cheryl Dunkin, who will re-open the shop in December.
-The former Kroger Building, adjacent to Walgreens, in Whitley City has been rented by Keen Sales Group in Oneida, TN. The group is the area’s main distributor of free Emergency Broadband Benefit telephones. The owner anticipates hiring several workers.
-Taco Bell is still hiring for their new location in Whitley City. Anticipated opening is mid- December.
-Excavation has begun on the Cumberland Family Medical Center across from the McCreary County Park.
-Clarity Counseling will be re-opening next door to Kristina’s Kitchen in Whitley City. They are certified to do court-ordered DUI counseling that has not been available in McCreary County for several years.
