A warrant for Contempt of court Failure to comply with sex offender registration was issued in September, 2021 for Ronald E. Grundy of Whitley City, KY. Federal, State and local police officers had been looking for Grundy who was also listed on the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry as non-compliant. Grundy was arrested Monday, February 21, 2022 at a residence on Bill Slaven Road in Whitley City.
Constable Cody Stephens received information late Monday evening of the possible whereabouts of Grundy. Constable Stephens notified the U.S. Marshall’s office in Somerset who met Stephens at the possible location. Grundy was arrested on the warrant by Constable Stephens and was additionally charged with Possession of a controlled substance, 1st offense, Resisting arrest and Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree.
A U.S. Marshall took custody of Ronald Grundy and lodged him in the Pulaski County Detention Center as a federal inmate. It is a federal offense for sex offenders required to register to the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act to knowing fail to properly register or update a registration.
