By Eugenia Jones

McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters reports a vehicle with a Montana license plate and reported as stolen from a residence on Bethel Road in Pine Knot, KY was recovered on Thursday (4-14-22) after Deputy Alex Jones responded to a 9-11 call concerning a vehicle sitting in the middle of the road on Carlos Vanover Road.

Deputy Jones arrived at the scene to find the reported vehicle backed into a drive with a female moving around inside of it and a male subject going through items in the trunk.  After making contact with the male, Deputy Jones noted the Montana plate number and checked information which confirmed the vehicle was indeed the vehicle that had been reported four days earlier as stolen.  The male and female both stated they did not know the vehicle was stolen.  The male said he had purchased the vehicle from a third individual.

As a result of the 9-11 call, forty-one year old Tony Ridner and thirty-nine year old Paula Cooper, both of Parkers Lake, were charged with Receiving Stolen Property $1,000< $10,000.
