Grand Jury Indicts four

The McCreary County Grand Jury met in regular session and handed down four indictments on July 15, 2022. 

Connor Anderson of Stearns, KY was indicted on six counts, the alleged offenses occurring on or about June 15, 2022. Count 1 charges Anderson with Fleeing or Evading the Police in the first degree by failing to obey signals of Deputy Greg Chaney to stop a vehicle driven by Anderson in an attempt to elude law enforcement and doing so while under the influence of intoxicants. Count 2 charges Anderson with Fleeing or Evading the Police in the first degree by failing to obey signals of Deputy Alex Jones to stop running in an attempt to elude law enforcement. Count three charges Anderson with Wanton Endangerment in the first degree by wantonly, and with manifest indifference to the value of human life, by operating a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed in such a manner which created a danger of death or serious physical injury to other persons on the highway. Count four charges Anderson with Wanton Endangerment in the first degree by striking the car in which Deputy Greg Chaney was driving with his car while under the influence of intoxicants and thereby creating a danger of death or serious physical injury to Deputy Chaney. Count five charges Anderson with Criminal Mischief in the first degree by damaging a police cruiser owned by the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office causing pecuniary loss in the amount of $1000 or more. Count six charges Anderson with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants first offense by operating a motor vehicle on public highways while under the influence of intoxicants.

Darrell Koger of Stearns, KY was indicted on two counts, the alleged offenses occurring on or about May 5, 2022. Count 1 charges Koger with Possession of a Controlled Substance in the first degree, second offense by having in his possession a quantity of methamphetamine. Count 2 charges Koger with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, first offense by having in his possession items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances.

Roland Ball of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on two counts and Jacey Ball of Pine Knot, KY was indicted on one count, the alleged offenses occurring on or about June 28, 2022. Count 1 charges Roland Ball with Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon by having in his possession a Taurus Judge Revolver after having been convicted of a felony. Count 2 charges both Balls, individually or in Complicity with another, with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the first degree, first offense by having in their possession, for the purpose of sale, a quantity of methamphetamine.
