Special presentation to McCreary County Museum

A ceremony will be held at the McCreary County Museum to mark the donation of the an authentic Civil War musket.  The ceremony will feature a  special presentation with  American Legion Post #115 and the 3rd KY Green River Rifles Civil War reenactors, during a presentation in honor of the  special 19th Century donation to the museum’s collection. The event is Saturday, July 30 at 3:30PM at the McCreary County Museum on Henderson Street in downtown Stearns.  The donation will be made by Harry Stone Creekmore, MD,  the great-great grandson of Francis Asbury Creekmore. Creekmore is also donating some of his father’s surgical tools. His father, Maurice Alexander Creekmore, was Stearns company physician in 1947.
