Road Work

Earlier this week, Hinkle Contracting began work on a turn lane from Wilburn K. Ross Road to Raider Way leading to McCreary Central High and McCreary County Middle Schools.  McCreary County’s State Representative and House Transportation Chair Kenneth Upchurch noted the importance of the additional turn lane. “This is a project that has been in the works for some time now,” Upchurch said.  “It was definitely a need for the McCreary County School System.”  Additionally, Representative Upchurch said construction of an access road to Central is planned at some point in the future. Contractors are expected to resume work on Hwy 92 from the Marsh Creek Area (McCreary County) to Whitley County in mid August.  The project completion date is November 13.
