Billy Ray Hayes

age 75 of Corbin, Kentucky
passed from this life on Friday,
September 2, 2022 at
the Jean Waddle Hospice
Care Center.
He was born August 17,
1947 in Whitley County,
Kentucky to the late William
Hayes and Dora Cleo (Mackey)
Hayes. In addition to his
parents, Bill is preceded in
death by a granddaughter
Tana Marie Hayes, a greatgranddaughter,
Kimber Collins,
and a brother, Clifton
Hayes.
Surviving family include
his son, Billy Ray Hayes Jr.
(and Vivian) of Whitley City;
his daughter, Susan Hayes
Ellison ( and Billy) of Williamsburg;
wife of 23 years,
Linda Hayes; step-children,
Daniel Paul of Rockholds,
Kentucky, Wayne Sanchez
(and Tracey) of Georgetown,
Kentucky, Tony Sanchez
(and Melissa) of East Bernstadt,
Kentucky, Jessica
Shepherd (and Dustin) of
Winchester, Kentucky, and
Brittany Sanchez of Corbin,
Kentucky; sisters, Arizona
Hayes Thistle (and Willis),
Mercedes Stevens (and Lonnie),
and Faye Faulkner (and
Woodrow); and a sister-inlaw,
Teresa Hayes.
Also surviving are Bill’s
12 grandchildren and 9
great-grandchildren who he
loved so very much.
Bill was a carpenter by
trade and loved wood work.
He was a jokester and always
loved to make others laugh,
but his pride and joy was being
with his grandbabies.
Funeral services were held
on Tuesday, September 6,
2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel
of Pine Knot Funeral Home.
The family received friends
for visitation on Tuesday
morning after 11:00 am until
service time. A graveside
service followed at 3:00 pm
in the Locust Grove Cemetery
in Keavy, Kentucky.
Pine Knot Funeral Home

funeral arrangements.
