James Lee Goodan

James Lee Goodan, 75 of
Whitley City passed from
this life on Saturday, September
3, 2022 at the Lake
Cumberland Regional Hospital
after a brief illness.
He was born on March 18,
1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio,
son of the late Rev. William
and Anna Adams Goodan.
James was a member of
the First Baptist Church of
Whitley City. He taught Math
at McCreary County High
School, McCreary Central
High School and Pine Knot
High School, Smithtown
Elementary, Pine Knot Job
Corp and Huntington Learning
Center in Florida.
On June 1, 1969, he was
married to Norene Freeman
Goodan of Whitley City who
survives. He is also survived
by two sons; James Lee
Goodan II and Eric Christopher
Goodan, four grandsons;
Eli James Goodan,
Emmitt Zachary Goodan,
Everett Cook Goodan and
Ean Floyd Goodan, special
nieces; Julie and Sarina
Albaugh and Casey Ross,
special nephews; Michael
and Steven Ross and David
Albaugh and a host of other
relatives and friends.
In accordance with his
wishes, cremation will take
place and no services are
