Lower Marsh Creek School children 1912 The names of the students and the teacher are unknown, but patriotism was strong. Note the small girl in the front row looking at her shoes and the headband on the older girl beside the teacher. Each child’s face is precious.

 

Lower Marsh Creek School circa 1912 Dora Neal, teacher This was an impressive school building with Dora Neal serving as teacher. Note the two children on the roof of the school. New Mexico and Arizona became states in 1912. President William Howard Taft issued an executive order in that year formalizing the appearance of the US flag for the first time. McCreary County was also created in 1912.
