Lady Raiders end streak at Bell

Entering Saturday’s Bobcats Classic the Lady Raiders were in the midst of a 10-game losing streak and coming off a big loss to Somerset Christian in which the girls looked beaten long before the final set was coming to an end.

McCreary finally ended the skid over the weekend by beating Bell County in one of the teams’ two meetings before finishing 1-2 in the tournament.

In addition to the pair of battles with Bell County, the Lady Raiders also Knox Central in the tournament

While the Lady Panthers topped McCreary, the Lady Raiders didn’t let them go without a battle falling in two sets 25-20 and 25-19.

McCreary found more success against host Bell County though, taking one of two games in three sets.

The win came with the Lady Raiders winning the first set 25-19 before dropping the second set 17-25. McCreary bounced back to take the third and deciding set 15-10 to get back in the winning column, a place they last saw on Sept. 13.

After hosting Jellico on Monday night, the Lady Raiders will finish out their regular season on the road at Lynn Camp and have their home finale against Williamsburg.
