John Martin and Otie (Ball) Martin

This picture was taken c.1934 in Pine Knot, Kentucky.  John was a coal miner at Barthell and Otie was a homemaker. Both John and Otie had beautiful singing voices and John sang bass in a gospel quartet. They were active members of the Pine Knot United Baptist Church (organized in 1886 by W. B. White) for many years.

Another daughter, Carrol Dean (Martin) Kidd was born in 1936.
