Cumberland County’s FCS agent Debbie Messenger lead us in a discussion about clutter not just in our environment but in our thoughts. We also discussed creative ways to reuse/repurpose things.

October 9th through 15th is Kentucky Extension Homemakers Week (KEHA) week. Extension Homemakers first began in 1912 through the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. McCreary County Fun-Makers Homemakers group began in 2012 under then FCS agent Anastasia Wheeler. Through the years, the group has continued with and without an FCS agent. Kristina McFeeters has been the leader keeping the group going through most of this 10 year period. To celebrate KEHA week, a display is posted in the lobby of Somerset Community College, McCreary, just outside the extension office
During their monthly meeting Monday, October 10th, Cumberland County’s FCS agent Debbie Messenger led the group in a discussion of clutter not only in our environment but in our minds. We also discussed creative ways to reuse/repurpose things. We also repurposed pringles and cashew containers.
Our next meeting will be November 10th, at 6:00 in Kristina’s Kitchen. We would love to see our club grow with lots of new members. Call McCreary County Extension Office for more information.
