Charlie Litton Nevels

Charlie Litton Nevels age 85 of Whitley City, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on May 14, 1937 in Keno, Kentucky to the late Everett Nevels and Agnes (Maxwell) Nevels. In addition to his parents, Litton is preceded in death by his wife, Gail (Davis) Nevels; a brother, Dave Nevels; sisters and brothers-in-law, Magolia Dick (husband, George), Elizabeth Young (husband, Delbert) Clydie M. Spradlin, Myrtle Bryant (husband, Carl), Donna Sue Jones (husband, Wiley), Roberta Waters (husband, Jimmy), and Margaret Messer; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Nevels. Surviving family include a son, Jeff Nevels of Whitley City; daughters, Debbie Tucker of Whitley City, and Melissa “Missy” Richardson of Stearns; a brother, Paul Nevels; 6 grandchildren, Chris Richardson (wife, Brittany), Amber Gregory (husband, Lucas), Whitney Sorensen (husband, Dustin), Kayla Moser (husband, Alex), Justin Richardson (wife, Chloe), and Elijah Tucker; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Alex, Eli, Sophia, Sam, Andrew, Autumn, Elizabeth, Easton, Lily, Benjamin, and Baby Moser on the way. The family would also like to give special thanks to Shonda Richardson and Debbie Sumner Crabtree for the special love and care that was shown to Litton. Litton was a Deacon of the Pine Knot Free Will Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and sharing his word. Litton enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting guns and knives. And though Litton loved his family, especially his grandbabies., he longed for Heaven to be with his Lord and reunited with “Mom”, his wife Gail. Funeral service were held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Rowe, Bro. Cody Canada, and Bro. Chris Richardson officiating. The family received friends for visitation on Monday after 6:00 pm until service time. Mr. Nevels will was laid to rest on Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the Nevels Family Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
