I will never forget one of the first answers to prayer that I experienced. I was praying for a black, thin, Thompson Chain Reference Bible. I had told no one of this request but had spoken to the Lord in secret. I was sitting in church one Sunday when Donnie Sims handed me a box. When I opened the box there was a black, thin, Thompson Chain Reference Bible in it. I knew that it was God who had answered prayer through my brother’s obedience. God uses us to be His hands and feet in this world. He will answer others prayers through you.
Brother Sims’s obedience taught me a great lesson on prayer. It taught me that many times the way God answers prayer is through other people. Not only do I need to pray for my needs, but I need to be open to the Lord to help with other people‘s needs. Someone could be praying that needs encouragement, and you have them on your heart to encourage them. In this way, God answers their prayer through you. The Lord has a vast network of people all over the world listening to His voice. It is amazing to me to see how God blesses someone and then makes them a blessing. Keep your spiritual ears open, God may be wanting to use you to answer someone’s prayer.
One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
