Grand Jury returns indictments
On October 18, 2022, the McCreary County Grand Jury returned five indictments against seven individuals. Charges within the indictments varied including charges for Trafficking in Controlled Substance in First Degree, Sexual Abuse in First Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in Second Degree.
Indictments released October 18, 2022, are as follows:
Sarah Kidd, of Pine Knot, was indicted on two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, First Offense by allegedly knowingly and unlawfully selling Oxycodone on two separate occasions for $120.00 to a Confidential Informant for the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office.
James Brandon Martin and David G. Mason, both of Pine Knot, and Carla Barnett of Strunk were indicted on Count 1 of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree when the defendants possessed a check drawn on a Christmas Club Account in the amount of $1,147.72 which had a forged signature. The three were also indicted on Count 2 for Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree.
Jordan B. Bryant, Parkers Lake, was indicted for the offense of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree by allegedly subjecting a child less than 12 years of age to sexual contact.
William Shane Bryant, of Stearns, was indicted on Count 1 for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Count 2 for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, First Offense.
Calvin Richmond, Pine Knot, was indicted for Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree by allegedly engaging in conduct which created a danger of death or serious physical injury to a 15 year old.
