Edith Cox

Edith Cox age 65 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Friday, October 21, 2022 at her home. She was born November 21, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late James Buford Kidd and Ann (Raymond) Kidd. In addition to her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Cox; a brother, Jim Kidd; a half brother, Joey Kidd; sisters, Rose Cooper and Betty Ridner; and a son-in-law, Paul Slaven. Surviving family include her sons, Timothy Cox (wife, Tonya) of Pine Knot and William Cox (wife, Christina) of Whitley City; a daughter, Patricia Slaven of Whitley City; grandchildren, Amber Cox, Trenton Cox, Calob Cox, Makenzi Cox, Elton Stephens, Calvin Corrigal, and Hunter Bryant; and great-grandchildren, Kinley, Luka, Levi, and one on the way. Also surviving is a brother, William Howard Kidd; a half brother, Coy “Andy” Kidd; a sister, Nellie Kidd; and half sister, Gertrude Bussell. Edith was of the Baptist faith and was a Homemaker. She loved nothing more than taking care of her family and grandbabies. She also enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service were held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Terry Myers officiating. Burial followed in the Hayes Creek Cemetery. The family received friends for visitation on Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
