Marilyn King

Marilyn King age 68 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Monday, October 24, 2022 at her home. She was born August 15, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Earl Barrett and Bessie (Burton) Barrett. In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her siblings Earl Jr. Barrett (wife, Jean), David Barrett (wife, Linda), Alice Thaxton (husband, Earl), Blane Barrett (wife, Ruth), and Charles Lenville Barrett (wife, Sandy). Surviving family include her husband, Larry King; her sons, Bobby Lynch (wife, Sam) and Larry Matthew King (wife, Jennifer) all of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughters, Nikki Rose Shaffer (husband, Andrew) of Levern, Tennessee and Christy Thompson (husband, Mark) of Glenville, Georgia; and grandchildren, Madeline, Emily Rose, Lily, Owen, Avery, Addison, Liam, James, and Matthew. Also surviving are Marilyn’s brothers, Wayne Barrett (wife, Joyce) of Ross, Ohio, Carl Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Freddie Sharpe of Franklin, Indiana; and her sisters, Jean (Barrett) Kurowicki of Evansville, Indiana and Brenda Barrett of Strunk, Kentucky. Marilyn was a member of the Whitley City Church of God. She enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, and travelling with her husband. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service were held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Thompson and Bro. Johnny Perry officiating. Burial followed in the King-Meadow Cemetery in Pine Knot. The family received friends for visitation on Saturday after 11:00 am until service time. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
