Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, 2022, and McCreary County has several special events planned to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and service of all veterans.
The County as a whole will honor veterans at the McCreary County Courthouse on Friday, November 11 in a ceremony conducted by McCreary Central High School’s Jr ROTC unit under the direction of 1SG Garry Galloway.
The McCreary County Park Building / Senior Citizens Center will host a Veterans Day Chili Supper and celebration for all Veterans and their families to say, “Thank you for your service.” The chili supper is scheduled for Thursday, November 10th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The event is free to all veterans and their families with music and plenty of food for all.
Local schools will host individual school ceremonies. Contact your community school for information.
The Whistle Stop Restaurant in Stearns will salute veterans by offering a free meal (burger/fries or chicken tenders/fries) to all veterans on Veterans Day 2022.
