Brothers Elijah Stephens (1834-1911) and Lewis Stephens (1837-1917) and their wives, Susannah Gilreath Stephens (1835-1911) and Amanda Shepherd Stephens (1837-1915) owned and operated the Stephens Mill located on Clear Creek near Pine Knot, KY in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. Back Row L-R: Bertha Hamblin Kidd (1890-1960), Sula Hamblin (1887-1943), Jane Stephens Hayes (1865-1916, daughter of Elijah and Susannah (Suzie) Stephens, and Joe Hayes – Bertha and Sula were the daughters of Jane Stephens Hayes and the stepdaughters of Joe Hayes.
