Southeast Search and Rescue and PAWS arrived in Stearns on Saturday to search an area where partial human remains were recently located. (DNA analysis is being conducted to confirm identification of the partial remains.) The teams brought in two cadaver dogs (one Labrador and one German Shepherd) to search the area. Team members searched using the dogs while watching the canines for changes in behavior such as pawing at the ground or circling. The dogs typically alert when finding a cadaver by laying down or sitting. Saturday’s search did not result in more findings. More searches in McCreary County are planned in the future. McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters & KSP are pictured with search team members.
