Following the much anticipated opening of the new KY Hwy 92, commuters can now travel a much quicker and safer route from Pine Knot to Williamsburg and I-75. Completion of Highway 92 was welcomed by all, especially those who commute on an almost daily basis to and from work and school. McCreary County’s State Representative Kenneth Upchurch also expressed his pleasure about the opening.
“We broke ground in 2018 on the first of two phases for completion, and I am very pleased with the fact that 92 is now open,” Upchurch said. “I’m pleased about the potential it has for opening up industry for McCreary County and the region.”
Representative Upchurch was recently named Chairperson of the Budget Review Committee on Transportation which is responsible for state highway infrastructure funding.
