August 10, 1941
The position of timekeeper was an important one since they logged the time employees of the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company worked, including overtime, and forwarded this information to the payroll department. This picture of the timekeepers was taken Sunday, August 10, 1941, at the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company Corporate Headquarters. The building was built in 1907 and has served as the McCreary County Museum since 1988.
Pictured L-R: Eli Logan, Herbert (Red) Trammell, Bill Gregory, Tom Sellers, Bill Cecil, Gilbert Boyer, Milford Meadors, and Evert Ball. The baby is James Trammell, the one-year-old son of Herbert (Red) Trammell. Note the hats lying on the ground behind Evert Ball.
The picture was donated to the museum by the children of Reverend Harry Filmore Meadors (1917-1988), son of Milford Meadors (pictured above).
