South Kentucky RECC is helping to brighten the holidays for families who have a child in the hospital.
Recently, co-op employees volunteered to decorate the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass in Lexington for the season.
“It is rewarding to know our efforts might help a parent or sibling feel they are home for the holidays during their stay,” said Doug Hutton, Director of Member Services. “Ronald McDonald Houses provide an invaluable service to families during their hour of need, and we are proud to help out.”
Co-op employees and their families volunteer to help out by providing meals, restocking supplies, cleaning and landscaping throughout the year.
“It is important to help make the holidays special for the families who are staying at the Houses,” said Hutton. “We are committed to all the communities and people we serve, especially those facing such challenging illnesses.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities create and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and strengthen families by keeping them together in times of medical need.
