Mary Lou Vanover

Mary Lou Vanover, age 61 years, of the Sandhill Community died Monday, December 26, 2022 at her home. She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on April 16, 1961 the daughter of Clifton and Minnie Virginia (Strunk) Threet. Mary had worked as a cook for the McCreary County School System, was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking and traveling. Her parents; son, Ricky Vanover, daughter, Janice Vanover; and brother, Ralph Threet precede her in death. Survivors include her husband, Robert Vanover of Whitley City, Kentucky; sons, Robert Vanover and wife, Angie and CJ Gibson both of Whitley City; daughter, Amanda Gibson of Whitley City; brothers, Rick Threet of Stearns and Arnold Threet of Whitley City; sisters, Debbie Parriman of Pine Knot and Geraldine Ridner of Whitley City; grandchildren, Dillon Vanover, Devin Vanover, Cloe Vanover, and Gracelynn Gibson. Funeral services were held Friday at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Tapley officiating. Burial followed in the Vanover Cemetery. The family received friends after 11am Friday at the Funeral Home. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
