Golmand Jones, 84, of Lafayette passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Franciscan East Hospital. Golmand was born December 1, 1938 in Slavans, KY, to the late Luther and Myrtle (Koger) Jones. He married Phyllis Pattengale in 1963 in Tennessee. She preceded him in passing on November 16, 2001. Golmand worked as a Welder at Can Am Steel in Lafayette for over 32 years. He enjoyed going to car shows, attending races and racing stock cars. Surviving are his children: Pamela Minix, Debra (Donald) Adams and JR Jones all of Lafayette; three sisters Zella Mendoza, Bertha Worley and Curley Matthis; grandchildren: Sunshine (Kassey) Jones, Precious (Benjamin) Foutch, Hope (Dustin) Schweiger, Donald (Emily) Adams III, Roy (Ashley) Adams, Chester (Joanie) Adams, Katherine Adams, Thomas Adams, Brandy (Matt) Dumas, Amber (Christopher) Monjon and Dustin Jones; great-grandchildren: Destiny, Mallik, Paislee, Deklan, Esla, Kaylie, Madison, Caleb, Destiny, Triston, Haylee, Chester Jr., Matthew, Donald IV, Lawrence, Logan, Chase, Ean, Sierra, Jayden, Qwentin, Braden, Naeveh; and great-great grandchildren: Ryah, Ellie and Chosen. Along with his wife, Phyllis, he is preceded in passing by his parents, siblings, Dillman Jones, Dee Jones, Wolford Jones, Harvey Jones, Gertie Phillips, Gatha Royston, Stella Jones, Kathy Jones and Clova Koger. Visitation was held from 4pm – 7pm Monday, January 9, 2023 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service were held at McCreary County Funeral Home in Whitley City, KY at 2pm Thursday, January 12, 2023. Burial followed in the Roberts-Slavans Cemetery.
