In Capernaum, the crowd did straightway soon arouse
Word went out and it was noised He was in the house
Many people gathered where He stood and preached
There was no room and no way He could be reached
They brought a paralytic man, being carried by the four
His friends could not get him to Jesus through the door
They couldn’t come nigh to Him because of the press
They would not be denied of their task nonetheless
They went upon the rooftop and broke the tiles away
They lowered down to Jesus the bed on which he lay
Much change came that day by faith these four revealed
The body and the spirit of the paralytic man was healed
Faith had brought salvation to the helpless man that day
Jesus said, “Arise, take up thy bed and now go thy way.”
Today, by faith He’ll do the same for you and for me
In love by grace He’ll say, “Thy sins be forgiven thee.”
You try and wonder why you can’t get through the door
God has a way, stop and pray and He’ll reveal much more
It may be through a window, or we too will use the roof
He is the Way, the Truth, the Life we have living proof
The Pharisees did ask, “Who forgives sin but God alone?”
The answer is only Jesus, Who will make us all His own
We bring our friends to Jesus, and they call upon His name
Like the paralytic, they will leave different than they came
