James Spradlin Jr.

James Spradlin Jr. age 69 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee. He was born August 23, 1953 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late James Spradlin and Ora (Hughes) Spradlin. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Spradlin and Rick Spradlin and a sister, Faye Conaster. Surviving family include his wife, Linda (Vanover) Spradlin whom he married October 10, 1981; sons, Jimmy Dean Spradlin (and Anita) of Strunk and Timothy Spradlin (and Gwen) of Pine Knot; daughters, Shonda Kay Jeffers (and Raymond) of Oneida and Lora Anderson (and Chris) also of Oneida; grandchildren, Jacob Jeffers, Karen Spradlin, Lindsey Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Maleigha Anderson, and James Spradlin; and great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Kameron Jeffers. James is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Spradlin and Harold Spradlin; sisters, Maxine King and Mary Crabtree, all of Pine Knot; and a special friend who James loved like a brother, Jimmy Byrd. James had worked previously in various Carpet Mills. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, listening to music, and Mustangs. James also enjoyed being sarcastic and making people laugh. But his highlight of life was his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved so dearly. Funeral service were held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery. The family received friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
