Kentucky State Public Affairs Trooper Scottie Pennington (London office) recently presented reflective vests to Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Craig Reed for KSP Troopers in McCreary County. The troopers will distribute the vests to individuals who are frequently seen walking along highways. Trooper Pennington noted McCreary County has had several pedestrians hit by vehicles during the past year, and it is hoped the reflective vests will help save lives. Trooper Pennington thanked The McCreary County Voice newspaper for contacting him about the need for vests, and Pepsi Cola for donating the vests to KSP. Pictured left to right are: KSP Trooper Scottie Pennington, Pepsi Cola Representative Brent Goins, KSP Trooper Craig Reed, and Edwin Miller who is frequently seen walking from place to place throughout Whitley City. Miller happened to pass by just in time to be personally outfitted by the KSP Troopers with a new reflective vest!
Troopers will distribute the vests when they see pedestrians in need. Also, if any pedestrian needs a vest to increase their visibility to motorists, a vest can be obtained, free of charge, by contacting KSP at 606-878-6622 and asking for Trooper Pennington.
