McCreary County Sheriff David Sampson reported the arrest of 46 year old Stanley Thomas Gibson of Somerset, KY on Friday, February 24, 2023. An arrest warrant was generated on February 6, 2023 based on Sheriff Sampson’s complaints of the following against Gibson:
Count 1: (that Gibson) took and exercised control over a 2006 Black Baja Subaru, valued at $5,000 with the intent to benefit himself and deprive the victim in violation of KRS 514.030, Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Class D Felony.
Count II: (that Gibson) took and exercised control of monies and other personal items, from a Black 2006 Baja Subaru, totaling over $10,000, with the intent to benefit himself and deprive the victim thereof, in violation of KRS 514.080, Theft By Unlawful Taking Or Disposition, Class C Felony.
The alleged theft occurred on January 28, 2023 in front of the Bestway Barber Shop in Whitley City.
Gibson will appear in McCreary County District Court to respond to the charges.
McCreary County Chief Deputy Dustin Ridner arrested Gibson without incident at a residence off of Chaney Lane in Pine Knot, KY.
Gibson was transported and lodged at the Knox County Detention Center.
