On Monday, February 13th, the McCreary County Fun-Makers held their regular monthly meeting. The program was taught by former McCreary County educator and Pulaski County FCS agent, Edith Lovett. Edith began by asking where to go to purchase the best chicken and French fries in town. This led to a discussion about how much difference cooking oils make in the taste of foods. Edith discussed the different kinds of oils, their separate uses, and cost. She then discussed different vinegars, their differences, and their uses. She mixed and we sampled: Basic Vinaigrette, Sweet Vinaigrette, Italian Vinaigrette and Honey Mustard Vinaigrette. Our March program will be “Making the Most Out of Meals While Traveling.”
