The Album is called “The Loser”
“The Loser”
After losing both of his parents last year within one week’s time of each other, McCreary County native Denny Kidd found himself spiraling downward. Accustomed to using music and other creative passions as healthy escapes in times of trouble, Denny found himself still struggling. Eventually rebounding from grief and depression, Denny involved himself in many different projects, including his performance in the film “A Night of the Undead” which is currently available in stores such as Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, and streaming platforms such as Prime Video and Vudu. Additionally, Kidd toured with pop-punk/hip hop artist Bry Lew and played multiple shows at various venues. For 2023, Kidd and his band have already booked forty shows around the United States, including a performance at The Thompson House in Newport/Cincinnati with the legendary horror-punk rock group, The Misfits.
Despite his busy schedule, Kidd still managed to find time to write music-a lot of music. To Kidd, the music is personal.
Kidd’s music, a blend of hard rock/rap-rock, is strictly produced, recorded, mixed, written, and performed by Kidd. His album is called, The Loser. In the album, Kidd reaches out to anyone has ever overcome being called names or looked down upon. To Kidd, the album is for those who accept name-calling and overcome it. The album is for those who persevere.
“It’s my way of laughing back,” Kidd explained.
Kidd operates a studio, known online as The Kidd Kave and has his own band, including Sadie Martin as live guitarist and Alex Vanover as live drummer. Many know Alex from the local acts, Jac’d, Above All, and Broken Shrine.
The Loser album will be released to all major platforms on March 11, 2023. Also on March 11 at 7:00 p.m., there will be a local album release show at Runaway Music Hall, a new music venue for all ages in Oneida, TN. Additional performers scheduled to perform during the show include a mix of hip-hop, rock, and acoustic artists. Admission is charged. Concessions and merchandise will be available.
