McCreary Countians who have not paid their 2022 property taxes need to hurry and get them paid. The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office reminds taxpayers that April 15th is the deadline to pay 2022 property taxes at the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office. After the April 15 deadline, tax bills will be turned over to County Court Clerk Eric Haynes for collection. When tax bills are turned over to the Clerk’s office, additional penalties are added on to the bills. 2022 tax bills paid after Aril 15 must be paid at the County Clerk’s office. If a payment plan is needed, one can be set up at the office of County Attorney Austin Price.
Currently, there are 958 outstanding tax bills for 2022 with a total gross property tax due of $248,960.12. The assessed property value for the 958 outstanding tax bills is $24,413,152.
