New business comes to Bestway Plaza

The Shelley Trading Company Vendor & Flea Market in Whitley City’s Bestway Plaza is the vision of Ronnie and Debbie Shelley.
The Shelley Trading Company has finally gone brick and mortar, and for proprietors Ronnie and Debbie Shelley, it is a dream come true.
During May’s grand opening of Shelley Trading Company Vendor and Flea Market located in the south end of the Bestway Plaza alongside Hwy 27 in Whitley City, Shelley explained.
“This is the business and vision of me and my wife, Debbie,” Shelley said. “Since 2015, we’ve had the Shelley Trading Company on Facebook but always wanted to set up a brick and mortar venue. After I retired in February, it was time to make it a reality. We remodeled this place on a shoestring budget with help from volunteers, and using lumber from barns that my grandkids tore down. We’ve also received donations from vendors and others.”
Currently, the Shelley Trading Company Vendor and Flea Market location boasts 22 indoor vendor booths and 24 outside tables available from April-November. Some of the outside tables are covered by a canopy, while others are in the open. Shelley also plans to open ten larger indoor vendor booths in July.
Shelley Trading Company is open seven days per week from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Outdoor tables are available at $10 per day, indoor canopy tables are $15 per day, and vendor booths are $75 to $100 per month, depending on the size of the booth. Unlike many flea markets and vending malls, the owners of Shelley Trading Company Vendor and Flea Market do not take a percentage of vendor sales.
Shelley plans to host bike shows and other outdoor events at the location. At least monthly, the Shelleys anticipate having music, including live bands, and food trucks.
For more information or to rent space at the Shelley Trading Company, contact Ronnie and/or Debbie Shelley at the Shelley Trading Company location, on the Shelly Trading Company Facebook page, or by phone at 606-310-2877.
