Sandy Wayne Watson

Sandy Wayne Watson, age 61, of Pine Knot, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida. Born December 11, 1961, in Yakima, Washington, he was the son of the late William Alfred and Nancy Susie Watson. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Richard Watson and a sister Sharon Watson. Surviving family include his fiancé Corina Ferguson of Pine Knot, two daughters: Sandra Ridner (Steven) of Whitley City and Mendi Watson (Greg Smith) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, a brother, Jerry Dean Watson (Amy) of Stearns, two sisters: Delma Watson of Strunk and Amanda Ball (Mike Bell) of Stearns. There are five grandchildren: Dalton Watson, Caleb Brown, Brock Watson, Hunter Watson, and Annslee Ridner, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Sandy had worked for and retired from Shamrock Coal Company. He loved riding his Harley motorcycles and being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginsenging. He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Upper King Cemetery at Bald Knob. A Masonic service will be held by the Orie S. Ware Lodge No. 874 of Stearns, Kentucky. Visitation was Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Sandy Watson with funeral arrangements.
