With this year’s second round of McCreary County’s free dump days coming soon, it’s the perfect time of year to do a bit of sprucing up around home before the arrival of a potentially cold and snowy winter.
Bulk item drop-off at the old transfer station at 100 Caterpillar Drive in Stearns is scheduled for Friday, October 13 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Please remember the following:
Those dropping off items must have garbage service with Scott Solid Waste.
For faster service, please bring a copy of most recent Scott Solid Waste bill.
Dump days are for large items only: mattresses, old appliances, old furniture, swimming pools, bathtubs, etc. NO tires, household garbage, or construction waste.
NO hazardous chemicals such as paint, oil, etc. The only exception is for old cans of paint when all remaining space in the cans is filled with cat litter.
