There will be a lot of talk about veterans. There will be sales, programs, and parades. Let’s not forget to honor and thank the veterans for the sacrifices they have made and are still making. Show them how much you appreciate them. As the Commander of DAV Chapter 105, I want everyone to take a moment and think about, “what if I did not have the freedoms that I have?”
With that, I want to invite everyone to come out on Friday, November 10th to the Veterans Day Parade and show our veterans that you are proud to have the freedoms that we have.
Veterans Day is for those that have served and the ones that are serving today to keep our freedoms, whether they serve in a time of peace or a time of war, active duty or National Guard/Reserves, male or female. They are all the same members of the U.S. military.
Come out and give the men and women an honor and show the veterans how much you appreciate them giving their days or years away from their families. Take a moment to think to yourself “how much do I appreciate my freedoms that these men and women left their families so my family could have freedom?”
If you are one of the few that have the day off, because of Veterans Day, come thank the veterans that made it possible for your day off.
The DAV will be having a flag retirement ceremony at the park on Saturday, November 11th at 11am. Come out and see how you properly retire an American flag. We will be doing this at the Show Ring.
I would like to invite all veterans to come out and join us. Also, I would like to invite you to join the DAV.
